Speakeasy Wins Bronze at San Diego International Beer Competition
Hunters Point Brewery home of Speakeasy Ales & Lagers recently was awarded a bronze medal at the 2019 San Diego International Beer Competition at the San Diego County Fair. The San Diego County Fair, hosts one of the top beer competitions and festivals in the country. Over 1,500 entries from 263 breweries from 26 states and 5 countries were represented. 60 classes were judged, ranging from porters and pale ales to chocolate and chili beers. Suds aficionados will enjoy hard-to-find specialty craft brews alongside favorites from our local brewing scene.
Judging took place April 12 and 13. 176 medals were awarded (gold, silver and bronze). The Best of Show award will be announced on June 15 at the San Diego International Beer Festival, happening at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar, Calif. June 14-16. Speakeasy was awarded a bronze medal in the German Style Bock beer class category for its Hunters Point Maibock (If I Could Turn Bock Time), a spring beer brewed with Mount Hood hops to give this Maibock a floral aroma with a touch of spice.
